Halloween '10

Ethan is obsessed with pirates and "Pirate of the Caribbean's" Capt Jack Sparrow lately, so for Halloween they were of course...pirates!  I'm trying to take advantage of the matchy-matchy costumes while I can.  Some day they won't let me dress them alike so I get it in while I can.  I thought they looked pretty cute!

Maui

Our trip to Maui in October was amazing!  The kids did awesome with all the travel and time change and once we got settled into our condo, we spent the whole time playing at the pool and beach.  It was just what we needed.

My parents met us there for the last 5 nights of the vaca.  We had a great time taking them out and about.  We even got them to go snorkeling!  I think that was my Mom's highlight of the trip.

Preschool

The kids started their second year of preschool in September.  They love it!  Ethan has had a harder time adjusting than Addie, but he is now getting the hang of it.  Their teacher, Miss Treese, is great and had very strict rules in the classroom, which I like.  It seems like they come home everyday saying new words and acting like little grown ups.  We are all very happy!

A wink and a smile

Thugs with beards

The boys recently asked me to color their beards in an attempt to look "younger."  I don't think that you can actually look cool with color on your face!  Just sayin...

Baby Shower fit for a Princess

* Beware...picture overload*

Last weekend I threw a baby shower for Eryn and her soon-to-be baby girl.
The inspiration for the baby shower was the invites that looked like this.
I then found the fabric that matched the invite and used it all over the house with strips and pennants.

The food table was the most fun to do.  After hanging a bunch of the fabric with rope from above, I used some extra fabric to use on the table and decorated the table with homemade chalk boards, old bottle containers, and mason jars.

The cutest idea (which wasn't mine, but a friends) was to cook the cupcakes in mason jars so that people could still walk around and visit while eating them!

To match the pennant idea, I put fruit in waffle cones (which were also very handy and portable).

There was a gingerale/champange bar with fresh fruit purees.

This area was set up so that everyone could fill out a self addressed envelope that Eryn could take home.  Makes mailing out the Thank-you's a lot easier!

Water was served in mason jars with these cute straws.

The favors were these cute pink bird soaps inside a gable box on a bed of moss.

There was a onesise station set up where everyone could make the mama and baby a custom onesise with a message on it.

Now her, and the baby, will have something to see (and wear) to remind her of all her friends at her shower.

It was such a fun shower to throw and I know that Eryn loved it and had a great time.
Now we just have to wait till baby girl Washington shows up!

And a special thanks to Kellie for helping me (and coming up) with all the little details for this shower.  I could not have done this with out you!  I owe you big.
