Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve was the traditional buffet at Mom's house this year.  We ate tons, listened to a Christmas story from Dad, exchanged pj pants, and laughed a lot.  It was great!

Christmas Baking

Thanks to the crappy economy, I had to come up with some cheap ideas for Christmas gifts. Eryn and I got together last week and baked whole bunch of goodies for our neighbors.  I know that I enjoyed eating all of it, so hopefully they enjoyed it too.
The finished product
Good 'ol sugar cookies
Peppermint meringues
Toffee

My Snow Angels

Here are a few pics I took of all the snow and ice that we got the week of Christmas.  Even though I was glad to have a white Christmas, this was a little much.

The snow drifts up to our front door were about 3 feet deep.

This was my Japanese Maple on Tuesday
Here it is on Wednesday

Neighbs

Most of you who read our blog, live all over the states and probably don't always know who I am talking about in my posts.  You have all heard me talk lots and lots about our neighbors (we like to call them our "neighbs") Trey and Eryn.  Here is a really cute picture of all of us last week before we headed out on a double date.  We are so lucky to have met them and live across the street from them.  They have a son around the twins age and are expecting #2 this spring. We couldn't ask for better friends!!!

Sledding

The week before Christmas, the Portland area got hit with TONS of snow.  One of the nights we were all stuck at home cause we couldn't get down our hill, Dave and Trey decided to take some of our tubes and go sledding.  I made Dave take the camera so that we could watch them, and this is what I got.  I think they had a good time!

Fit Right Night Out

Last weekend Dave and his staff headed out for a night on the town.  They had decided to do a pub crawl and the theme was "ugly sweater."  As you can see, everyone followed through with the ugliest sweaters.  Dave also had to take the mullet out with him and as usual, everyone took a turn with it.  He is really fortunate to have such a great staff and he enjoyed having some time away from work to just hang out with all of them.  Thanks to all who went!!!

Santa's Lap

We took the kids to the mall to see Santa.  At first they seemed to be o.k. with it, but as soon as Dave and I stepped away from them, they both started to cry.  This was the only picture where they aren't wailing, so I thought I'd want this one.  But the more I think about it, I should have gotten the picture of them crying.  Oh well.

And I have no idea why Ethan is sucking his thumb.  He isn't a thumb sucker.  I guess he was so traumatized that he was comforting himself!  Someday, they'll look back at this and laugh.

Turner Tree Tradition

Every year my family goes to the same Christmas tree farm in Forest Grove.  I think my parents have been going there since they moved to Oregon some 30 years ago.  It is a beautiful place up on a hill with amazing views and tons of trees.  And every year we stand in front of this tall cut out tree and get a picture of our trip.  It is one of my favorite traditions!
