The Zoo

Monday Dave and I took the kiddos to the zoo for the first time this year.  The weather was perfect, not too hot and not too cool.  All of the animals were out and very playful.  As soon as we got inside the gates Ethan wanted out of the jogger so that he could walk around himself (he is so much like Dave it's scary!).  And of course, Addie, who is very much like me, wanted to stay in the jogger the whole time, eating her bag of goldfish, and look at the animals from the comfort of her seat.  Princess!  It was so much fun and I can't wait to take them back this summer.

We ended the day with what I'd like to think is going to become tradition for us...an elephant ear.  Addie decided to get out of the jogger for that!

Pooped babies!

Irony

So, yesterday I had to go to the mall (I know, I HAD to go.  Like it's a chore).  While I was there I decided that I should probably pick up a new bra.  *Now, you need to know that I HATE buying bras.  It's like going to the dentist for me.  I always just go into Victoria's Secret, head straight to the same rack (no pun intended), and pick the same one I always get.  Sometimes, I get crazy and buy one in brown instead of the usual nude or black.  I'm unpredictable like that!*  My other ones are starting to feel like overused rubber bands (which is pretty much what they are) and weren't doing their "job."  So it's time.  I walk into VS which is always decorated with such inspiring pictures all over of size -0 models in bras and panties.  They are everywhere!  They look all sexy and done up with their hair and makeup, in their matching sexy p.j.'s, just looking like we all do when we get out of bed, right? No one really looks like that!  I hate it!  So, anyways, I walk in, grab the one I want, tell the little girl helping me that "no, I don't want to try it on,"  and then head to the cash register.  After dropping $50 on this bad boy (I can't believe that bras cost this much!), the girl drops a little box into my bag with the bra.   I looked at it on the way out and could not stop myself from laughing out loud (to which the girls working there looked at me like I was crazy).  They were giving away boxes of chocolates!  As if you didn't feel self conscious enough in the store that sells you thongs and lingerie, here is a box of chocolates to help with that fat ass of yours!  I laughed so hard, that I probably burned enough calories to burn off the chocolate that I, of course, ate on the way home.

Mothers Day

Yesterday we spent the day at my folks house to celebrate Mother's Day.  After a huge (and delicious) dinner that the guys cooked, we enjoyed some of Mom's homemade ice cream.  The kids LOVE it cause they get bites from everyone.  They just make the rounds to anyone who is eating, and of course, my family gives them as much as they want.

Hawaii

Dave and I headed to Hawaii last month for some much needed relaxation and time together.  Even though the weather wasn't great, we still managed to have a good time.  We spent our time kayaking, sight seeing, shopping, swimming, and laying on the beach.  We never get tired of just planting our butts in a lounge chair all day and soaking up some sun, but after 6 days away from the babes, we were ready to come home.

Special thanks to Dave's parents, Frank and Jan, for coming out here from Colorado to watch the kiddos for us.
