New York

Here are some highlights of our trip to New York for the marathon.

Dave up early getting ready for the race.

I was able to see him at the 25 mile mark.

Celebrating his run with a frozen hot chocolate from Serendipity's.

 Rockefeller Center

St.Patricks Cathedral

And of course, Rupert, from the Hello Deli

Not pictured was the Dave Letterman show, shopping the flea markets, Times square, all the great food, and Central Park.

We loved it there and will definitely be going back.

Oh, and Dave finished the race in 2 hours 50 mins, placing 382 out of 44,969.  Way to go!

Ideas, ideas...

I have tons of new ideas for our house.  I can't wait to get my Christmas stuff down and start on them.  Here are my top ones that I am dying to get started on.

A new headboard for our bed

Finish Ethan's bedroom.  I want one wall like this:
A striped wall like this:

Dark hardwood floors in the whole downstairs (coming soon)

Window boxes outside

An old mantle as an architectural piece in the formal living room

The evolution of a living room

It started in the summer when my brother built our new mantle.  And now I have the bug to change everything in that room.  I started with the paint first.

Here's a reminder of what we started with.

Then it looked like this:

And now it looks like this:

I carried the paint into the kitchen which I think looks really nice.  It is the perfect blue/gray color that I actually mixed myself out of two mistints.  I am loving it!

Vintage Bleu is born

Myself and a friend of mine, Eryn, have decided to start our own vintage furniture/decoration boutique called Vintage Bleu.  Our first show/sale is going to be in December at Eryn's, where we will showcase lots of new stuff that we have been working on.

Here are a few pics of the latest stuff I have been working on.

Playing catch-up

I am the worst blogger ever!  It has been so long since I have updated this and now I have to post like 20 posts to catch us up.  Oh well, please forgive me!

Let's start with the kids 3rd birthday.  We had a party at a local place called JJ Jump.  It's an indoor play arena with bouncy houses, slides, and obstacle courses.  They had a blast.

Then we had Halloween.  The kids were both dressed as vintage clowns which turned out so cute!  We took them to downtown Camas for the boo bash were they get to trick-or-treat to all the local businesses. Then on Halloween night we headed over to my parents house for some dinner, donuts, and trick-or-treating in their neighborhood.

The adults even got into the spirit of things too..

Even Grandma got in on the action!
