Last week we took my nieces and nephew to the park for a hike and some playtime on the playground. Dave was holding Ethan while pushing Emma on the swing. For some reason Ethan found this very funny and could not stop laughing (he even snorts a few times). We have never heard him giggle like this. It was so cute!

Olympic Trials
The Olympic Trials for track and field came to Eugene this last month, so of course, we had to go. Dave bought the tickets last year as soon as they went on sale. He made it down the last weekend of the events and I met up with him on Friday night to go see Saturday's races. We got to see one of his old teammates/friend, Casey Malone, take 3rd in the discus which means he is going to Beijing. We also got to see the 1500 meter race which was what Dave raced when he was in college. You could tell he was having the time of his life. I was really glad that we got to go.
Oh, and just to brag a little about my very talented husband, the guy who took first in the 1500 had a slower time than Dave's PR in the same event! I forget sometimes what a great runner he is and what great success he had while competing. He doesn't like to brag about himself, so I will.

This is Casey Malone who made it to the Olympics in the discus throw. It was neat to be able to see him.
So, after someone throws their discus and the distance is measured, they have these kids send out a new, clean discus to the next athlete. And they get it to them by remote control car. So here are these two kids, just sitting on chairs on the field, driving the cars. I thought that it was pretty funny.
Our little pool
Dave & I bought the kids a blow up pool for our backyard recently. While we were blowing it up, they were having a good time just crawling around in it. They have since been in it with water in it which they also love. I like to give them a chance to just strip down naked and play around outside whenever possible. You know...air out those little butts!

Legwarmers
Everyone makes fun of me cause they can't believe that I actually dress my little girl in legwarmers...but they aren't. They are this great little invention called Babylegs and when it is really hot out, I can put her in just a onesie with them on and she doesn't get her knees all scuffed up. I would buy some for Ethan, but Dave and I have agreed that they are a little girly. They are the cutest things on.
4th of July Neighborhood Party
So for the last few years, Astor Court has been the place to be on the 4th of July. All of the neighbors roll out their grills, chairs, and food, and we set off our own very impressive fireworks show. This year was no exception! Everyone gathered in Trey & Eryn's driveway and visited while the boys grilled all the food. After we ate, another neighbor, Craig, sets off what I'm sure is a second mortgage's worth of fireworks. Everyone had a blast!
O.k. so I have to explain this picture. Ethan has this binky/net on top looking thing that can hold pieces of fruit in it. That way he can suck on the fruit and get out all the juice without choking on big pieces. He LOVES this thing. Whenever he has sucked all of the fruit out and I take it away to refill it, he freaks out until he gets it back. And as you can see, it is a little bit messy too.
Sunriver
Dave had his annual event in Sunriver at the end of June so we decided to go out a few days early and spend some time as a family. We had a good time playing in the pool, going for walks, and just relaxing at the house we rented. Even though the kids were teething REALLY bad, they were still pretty good. I love going away for some R&R, but now with kids, I realize how nice it is to come home too.
