A few new peices

Here are a few new ones that I have finished up.
This one was from Goodwill and looks amazing in person.  It has this beautiful scroll detail around the doors that I stained the same color as the top.  I put it in my family room for now and am going to have a hard time parting with it once it sells.

This one is from the garage of my friend, Kim.  It was a piece that her husband owned before they were married and she hated it.  It didn't even have the doors on it when I got it.  Mark had to fish them out of the "wood pile."  Once I finished it I had him come over to take a look and he didn't even recognize it.  Now it is off to a new home where it will be a TV stand or buffet piece.  I couldn't be happier with how it turned out.

Now to finish the rest of the stuff that has been collecting dust in my garage!

Total Slacker

I realize how sucky I have been lately at keeping this up.  I am hoping to be much better in the coming months.  I also have some very exciting news about another "project" I am starting soon too.  More details later.
So, in order to catch up on the last few months of activities around here, I am just doing one big post.  Sorry, but that is just how is goes around here these days.

We haven't gotten a lot of snow this year, so when we did, we played outside as much as possible.

Thanksgiving was here.

Here is our growing boy.

My only "action shot" of Thanksgiving dinner.

Trip to Sunriver for Christmas

Getting bigger

Ice skating in Sunriver

Cheesy, right?!

They had the MOST AMAZING Santa in Sunriver.  The kids (and I) loved him.  He spent 10 min with the kids just talking and hugging them.  It was priceless.

We made a gingerbread house

More pics of Koda.

We took a sleigh ride on Christmas Eve with Dave's parents.  It was like being in a storybook.  Sunriver is the best place to be at Christmas time.

Getting new Christmas p.j.s.

The gift of all gifts this year was a Buzz Lightyear that he had been asking for  6 months.  I swear EVERYDAY the first thing he would say to us was "I get a new buzz lightyear for Christmas?  I good boy."  He could hardly wait for Dave to get it out of the box.

Addie got a new dollhouse (and some jewelry, as you can see).

The dog getting even bigger

Back to Sunriver in January

Took a trip to the High Desert Museum

Tried ice skating again

And brought some friends with us

These two were inseparable the whole time.

Other than that we have been busy with work, preschool, swim lessons, house projects, trying to train our crazy dog, and trying to fit a date night in every once in awhile.

New York

Here are some highlights of our trip to New York for the marathon.

Dave up early getting ready for the race.

I was able to see him at the 25 mile mark.

Celebrating his run with a frozen hot chocolate from Serendipity's.

 Rockefeller Center

St.Patricks Cathedral

And of course, Rupert, from the Hello Deli

Not pictured was the Dave Letterman show, shopping the flea markets, Times square, all the great food, and Central Park.

We loved it there and will definitely be going back.

Oh, and Dave finished the race in 2 hours 50 mins, placing 382 out of 44,969.  Way to go!

Ideas, ideas...

I have tons of new ideas for our house.  I can't wait to get my Christmas stuff down and start on them.  Here are my top ones that I am dying to get started on.

A new headboard for our bed

Finish Ethan's bedroom.  I want one wall like this:
A striped wall like this:

Dark hardwood floors in the whole downstairs (coming soon)

Window boxes outside

An old mantle as an architectural piece in the formal living room

Staircase steps like this:
